AHEPA National Day Celebrated at Saint George Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Philadelphia by Hercules Spartan Chapter 26

The AHEPA National Day was proudly celebrated on Sunday at the historic Saint George Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Philadelphia by AHEPA Hercules Spartan Chapter #26.

The day began with Liturgy and a special Artoklasia service and prayers offered for all AHEPA brothers and members of the Saint George community, led by Rev. Anastasios Bourantas, Dean of the Cathedral. Following the service, Father Anastasios warmly welcomed the AHEPA brothers, acknowledging their long-standing contributions to the community.

In a moving moment, the Sunday and Greek School teachers presented graduation certificates to the students, honoring the next generation of Greek American leaders. Father Anastasios then announced a special fundraising luncheon offered by AHEPA, generously sponsored by Mr. and Mrs. John Sarkioglou, and invited Chapter President Paul Kotrotsios to address the attendees on AHEPA DAY.

President Kotrotsios thanked Father Anastasios, Community President Maria Tsiouris, and the entire Parish Council for their continued collaboration and support. In his remarks, he emphasized that the purpose of the luncheon was to raise additional funds for youth initiatives, underscoring the importance of supporting the backbone of the Greek American community—our youth.

The luncheon was a great success. President Kotrotsios personally visited each table, engaging with attendees and encouraging new AHEPA memberships. His efforts bore fruit, with five new members will be joining the Ahepa Chapter 26 soon. Informational materials were also distributed to raise awareness about AHEPA’s mission and upcoming projects.

The event concluded with expressions of gratitude to all who contributed to its success, including John Kanakis, Chairman of the Scholarships, Perry Kyritsis, Chairman of the AHEPA DAY Luncheon, Leo Melissinos, co-Chairman, Pete Chletcos, presidential advisor and Ioannis Haviaras. President Kotrotsios called on everyone to continue supporting AHEPA’s youth-focused initiatives and to stay actively involved in building a stronger community.
